A low literacy level brochure, photo-novella, and video in English and Spanish are available from the March of Dimes. Developed by the University of South Florida, these materials were specifically designed for Hispanic migrant workers. The novella and video are about three sisters who discover and discuss the importance of taking folic acid for prevention of birth defects. Contact the March of Dimes Florida Chapter for more information.

A folic acid Web site developed by the University of Florida targeted primarily to college-aged women. This site offers a calculator that allows consumers to estimate their folate intake based on their individual diets.

Visit the IFAS Bookstore to order the "Folic Acid Every Day" toolkit for health professionals. The toolkit includes an educator's notebook, 2 videos, a CD-ROM containing a PowerPoint file and color handouts, and an interactive placemat and food card activity for evaluating folate intake, all contained in a plastic tote box for easy storage and transport.
